CuZn Water Filters vs. Carbon Filters

subject: replacement filters for CuZn wh10 Filter
I’m looking for whole-house water filtration that removes primarily chlorine.
Interested in low running costs.
Which is better, CuZn or active carbon?
I understand that active carbon removes chlorine etc whereas CuZn water filters converts it to a different chemical compound. Has there been any scientific tests of the health aspects of these converted compounds?
Have the CuZn filters been FDA approved?

Thanks for contacting us.

The CuZn water filters system is based on FDA approved technology. However, if your primary concern is chlorine and nothing else, staying with the standard carbon filters would be a straight forward approach.

The GAC-BB is a 4-1/2” x 9-3/4” (10”) filter cartridge.

The GAC20-BB carbon water filter is a 4-1/2” x 20” Big Blue replacement cartridge.

GAC Series cartridges (Granular Activated Carbon) effectively remove or dramatically reduce unwanted tastes, odors and chlorine from your drinking water. These cartidges are designed to allow maximum contact between the water and carbon, ensuring maximum adsorption.

CuZn water filters systems work on a more advanced procedure level.

Hope this helps.
